“I’ve been in this business for 30 years, and I’ve never seen it like this.”
I can recall hearing that statement three times over the course of my adult working life. The first time I heard it was very early in my career. My boss at the time had been a part of the Texas oil field service industry for more than 30 years, and the mid-80s oil crash was taking its toll. What once had boomed was now busting, stripper wells that had been profitable were being plugged, and new drilling activity came to a virtual standstill. Prospects in the oil business were looking pretty dim.

It’s Time for Software and the Service
Mar 17, 2014
In the past, companies bought, built and maintained IT infrastructures on their own. When Software as a Service (SaaS) came along, it was widely embraced by businesses. Why wouldn’t it be? SaaS allows customers to access technology solutions without even owning the infrastructure itself.
As businesses grow in a predominately digital marketplace, some can’t keep up with rapidly changing technology. This is especially true for marketing departments. They don’t have enough time or in some cases the right staff required to be kept-up-to-date and implement new solutions that can drive revenue and expand their customer base.

Traditional Sales Techniques are Obsolete
Feb 25, 2014
In a world where people spend most of their day (including their spare time) using their cell phones and computers, companies have to use different techniques to reach their target market. It’s not about going door-to-door or making 50 calls a day anymore.
Cold calling is outdated. Social media websites have changed the landscape of sales and are becoming a quick replacement for connecting over the phone. Communication via email and social media channels like LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter (which have millions of user available to connect with) make it easier to reach out to customers. Instead of making multiple calls in one day, it’s much more common for a company to send a message to a company they consider a prospect.

The Mobile Marketing Mandate
Aug 13, 2013
Companies don’t have a choice anymore. Responsive web design and optimization for mobile are mandatory components of a successful and sustainable marketing strategy. Many companies understand that this is the direction Internet marketing is going, but some recent statistics suggest that companies should be acting with a little more urgency when it comes to mobile optimization than they have been. Of the 5 hours a day people are spending engaged on digital media, they spend 2 hours and 19 minutes online and 2 hours and 21 minutes on a mobile device.
The 5 hours (and 16 minutes, to be specific) devoted to digital media is 45 minutes more than people spend on the next most popular media format (television, at 4:31). Radio is a distant third at 1:26 and people only spend a measly 32 minutes a day on offline print.
